River Road (Rt 32) Construction - Alternate Route Directions to get to Sand Castle

Penndot has set up a detour on River Road (Rt 32) for construction just north of Centre Bridge to Lumberville.

You may find it faster to cross over into New Jersey on any of the Delaware River crossing bridges (as far north as Centre Bridge) and follow NJ Rt 29 North to Frenchtown. Once in Frenchtown, make a left onto Main Street and cross the bridge into Pennsylvania. Turn left onto Rt 32 South for 2 miles to stop sign. If you are closer to PA Rt 413, you can take Rt 413 north and turn right at the Piperville's Tavern onto Dark Hollow Road.
Follow Dark Hollow Road all the way (about 4 1/2 miles) to Rt 32 and make a left onto Rt 32 North for 0.6 miles. Sandcastle will be on the left.

From Doylestown, take 611 North and where it joins Rt 413 make a right onto Deep Run Rd for .1 mile, left onto Old Easton Rd (PA 413 for .2 miles and then go straight onto Dark Hollow and follow all the way (about 4 1/2 miles) to Rt. 32 North for .6 miles. Sandcastle will be on the left.

From Philadelphia and South

  • Interstate 95 North
  • Exit New Hope (Last Exit in Pennsylvania)
  • At Exit, Left onto Taylorsville Road.
  • At stop sign, left onto Route 32 North
  • Follow Route 32 from New Hope Traffic light 13 miles
  • Pass through the towns for New Hope, Lumberville, and Pt. Pleasant
  • The entrance to Sand Castle Winery will be on the left.

From New Hope
Main Street in New Hope is also Route 32 or sometimes called River Road. From the traffic light on Main St., follow River Road North about 13 miles.

From New York and North

  • Taken 287 south
  • Take exit 17 Route 202 South Somerville, Lambertville, Flemington.
  • Follow 202 South until you reach the first circle in Flemington.
  • Take Route 12 west at the First Flemington Circle
  • Follow Route 12 all the way to the town of Frenchtown
  • Cross Bridge and make a left onto route 32 South
  • The entrance to Sand Castle Winery is 2 1⁄2 miles on the right, just past the Golden Pheasant Inn and one lane bridge.
